Join us for Titus 2 Tuesdays. It's a great way to celebrate the women in your life, and to recognize what you are learning or have learned from those women.
Today, I celebrate two of my friends who have helped me think outside of the box in the last couple of days in regards to health, weight loss, and exercise.
I've referred to my constant weight battle numerous times on this blog, and I've even written a letter to these extra 10 pounds "declaring war". Apparently, it takes more than that. . . .
So, yesterday I decided to enlist the help of some of my health nut buddies. Those girls that I know who exercise because they love it, they eat healthy because they want to. Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah.
(I realize that the first thing I need is an attitude adjustment about the "Blah Blah Blah" part. I've changed my outlook, and I'm praying constantly God will help me in this fight!)
Lori and Amber are my two friends who've helped me in the last two days. It is Amber who took the time to write out a looonnnnggggg but very beneficial email to me, telling me what she eats on a daily basis, outlining her exercise plans, and giving me other ideas. Amber's lost 20 pounds in the last 6 months, and it just helps so much to know there's success behind what she's doing. Lori helped me, too, by also sharing her food intake and her exercising. Lori also asked if I'd be interested in being accountability partners in our weight loss; we both want to lose 10 pounds.
After getting all the helpful hints and ideas from Lori and Amber, I was so pumped last night about my new, true health endeavor! I've never been so excited to eat broiled asparagus, grilled shrimp, and salad. And it was D.I.V.I.N.E. Yummy! Delicious! We ate outside on our back patio, enjoying the great spring weather! Even Better!
But I did still think mean thoughts to Jillian while doing her DVD. So, no, I'm not totally there yet with my health nut chums, but I'm getting there. And if you ask me, that's half the battle!

Totally feeling you on Jillian! lol Thanks for sharing!
Oh yes...we could so be friends in "the real world" ha!!! I too think awful thoughts about Jillian and would LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOOVVVVEEE the recipe for the shrimp and asparagus. I am having to learn how to cook healthy, so I need all the help I can get!!!
Your "fine print" cracked me up!! I think we all are going to want the recipe!!!
I'm shooting for at LEAST a 10 pound loss myself; just officially joined a gym with a friend to get me motivated!
LOL...love the blah blah part. I'm with you on that! I just have no motivation, and I wish I could be one of those people who love to exercise, but I just don't. I wish you much success though....sounds like you're on the right track!
I bought the Jillian DVD about a year ago and I don't think I ever opened it! Ha!!
Hi
Happy blessings are being sent your way.
May you have a week filled with great abiding joy in who you are and where you are going with Christ at your side.
This weight thing is often an alone battle but we must not let it get the better of us we must try to hold onto the hands that reach out to hold ours and encourage us in what ever way they can.
Be forgiving of ourselves as well as forbering that often helps me when I am getting frustrated to realize I have got to lift up myself just like I would someone else I was trying to help.
It is a weird thing to think help myself ,pray for myself but it makes a difference.
We have to minister to our selves as well as others .
Blessings of joy to you .
I really enjoyed visitng your blog.
I'll try to visit again real soon.
Just keep going toward your goal nice and steady.
Send this email to me! I'm so glad you have some supportive and encouraging friends.
If you don't already, I strongly suggest doing High Intensity Interval Training. I do sprints, and it's amazing how hard of a workout I can accomplish in 20 minutes. It's grueling and really tough, but I see great results.
And asparagus are surprisingly yummy!
