After my post yesterday, a couple of you commented that you’d like my recipes. Well, see, the thing is they’re so simple that it’s ridiculous! You’ll certainly be amazed! But since you asked, here goes. . . .
Grilled Shrimp
Unpeel and devein raw shrimp. In a shallow dish, spread out shrimp and lightly coat with olive oil. I put shrimp into a grill basket before placing them on the grill. Grill on each side about 6 – 8 minutes or until the shrimp are cooked thoroughly. Lightly salt and pepper before serving.
Broiled Asparagus
Wash asparagus, snap off the ends and discard. Lay asparagus in a baking dish in a single layer. Lightly coat with olive oil and a little bit of garlic salt. Broil at 500 for 10 – 12 minutes (I kept them in for 15 because I prefer for my veggies to be really done!). My recipe book (Joy of Cooking, da BOMB for new wives like me!) recommended adding the garlic, but it also said you could add parmesan cheese (YUM).
See how easy? And I promise it’s so yummy!!! And quick! Bon Appetite!

Those recipes are easy! We've been steaming our asparagus, but I think we'll have to try broiling it, too.
BTW, my husband might argue that the Joy of Cooking is DA BOMB for new husbands, too. =)
YUM! Thanks for sharing....now I'm hungry. hehe
hey B- I love asparagus...another great way for the summer is to do them on the grill! Same way- put them in foil, though and drizzle w/ olive oil and parm. cheese. This is one of our summer staples!
