am having Mcklinky issues ~ again!?!?! I apologize that the link is unavailable until mid day. I can't get into MckLinky to edit it at the moment either. Sorry, y'all!
"You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God." Titus 2:1 - 5, NIV
Today, I'm honoring the youngest little lady yet. Eleanor Grace is my niece, as any of you who've been following my blog for a while know. Ellie is 11 months old, and she has absolutely stolen my heart. Yesterday, I honored my sister on her birthday, and Ellie is her daughter.
Ellie has taught me so much about God's love for us. I never knew the feeling of truly loving a child so much that you think your heart might burst until Ellie was born. Really, I loved her that much before she was born. The promises God gives us that He knits us in our mother's belly and knows every detail about us, including the hairs on our heads came alive in amazing ways when Ellie Grace entered my life. I've mentioned before that my sister allowed me to be in the delivery room when Ellie was born. Wow, what a miracle to experience! I was in utter awe at the site of seeing a life be brought into this world, and really, all I could think was My God truly is Good.
Ellie's big smile and sweet laugh reminds me time and time again to enjoy life. Watching her little mind grow and develop has taught me to enjoy the little things in life. Her smile is infectious, and her giggles light up our family!
We recently took Ellie to the pumpkin patch for some picture fun!

So sweet! Ellie is so blessed to have you in her life! She will be trained up in God with you around! How amazing kids are!
I LOVE it! What a wonderful post! Did you notice the 'refuge' of those pumpkins (in the verse) too? A pumpkin in the middle of pumpkins. Don't you just love it?! I went through labor/delivery w/one friend years ago and it truly was an amazing thing. You've been blessed. Enjoy it! (I know you are!) Loving other people's kids, especially nieces, nephews, is fun. I've not had children of my own - so I especially enjoyed your sharing this. I've been blessed! Thanks.
So cute..I love her eating that pumpkin!

What beautiful pictures! And what a beautiful blessing Ellie is to you...and you are to her!
What a cutie!! I can tell her Aunt B adores her very much :)
Little Miss Ellie is BEAUTIFUL.
I totally understand how you love her SO much more than any other child has made you feel. I am the same way with Lee's nephew (he turned 3 this month) when Lee and I started dating Kaleb was about 11 months old. Kaleb LOVES the sound of my name so much, he will just say it over and over to hear it roll off his tongue (SO CUTE) it's funny because he thinks Lee and I are super connected.
One time his family came to visit- I was at work, so I was coming later. Kaleb saw Lee and immediatley asked where I was (like always) and when they told him I would come later he started crying!
We just have this awesome connection with each other that I can't explain.
If he has a bad day Lee's sister in law calls me and when Kaleb hears my voice on the phone he starts smiling. When I have a bad day and call Miranda/Chad they always put Kaleb on the phone for me too!!!
God uses children to tug at those mommy heart strings we already have :)
your niece is absolutely adorable. How incredible that you were there for the moment of her birth.
I love your blog (but couldn't you make it it in yellow jacket colors--Goooo Tech! :-p teasing!) and am so happy to meet you!
PS that dress she is wearing is too much! so cute!
