3 Months Old

I just can't believe it.  3 Months already?

Goodness Gracious.

Molly is truly the light of our lives!  She is smiling so much now, and often tries her best to talk to us.  Or anyone else who's giving her attention.  It's so precious!  I tried to catch it on video this weekend, but as usual, the second I pull out the camera, she stops!

Happy 3 Months, Molly Miller Slocum!

Catch Up

So, you know that feeling of being so far behind you just don't know where to start?

Yeah, that's me.  With this blog.

Obviously.

Whew, life's full these days!  And we are loving every minute of it!

We spent a few days in Amelia Island with Tim's family in August.  We had lots of fun, ate tons of good food, enjoyed being with lots of family, and shared sweet Molly with tons of folks!

I mean, really? How can you NOT enjoy a vacation when this is your view from your patio?

Molly got lots of lovin' from her Big Daddy and CiCi!

We celebrated Tim's 31st Birthday!

We all oohed, ahhed and gazed at Molly Miller.

It was a great time for sure!

In other news, it's official.  I am not returning to work full time!  This is something we've prayed about, talked through, agonized over (well, I did, at least), and prayed about some more.  I will be able to work from home some for the bank, and for that I am thankful.  Super thankful!  And I'll be keeping Ellie Grace on the days her mother works, so I'm going to be a busy lady!  And I'm so very excited!

I'm so very thankful that my husband works as hard as he does and provides for us in such a way that I am able to be home with Molly.  I'm overwhelmed with gratitude that God heard our prayers and has provided for us a situation that honestly was better than I ever imagined.

It's gonna be good, y'all!  Really good!

Many Faces of Molly

Molly is so much more alert these days, and we are seeing more and more of her personality.  So far, she's quite serious.  She's smiled a few times at us, but she certainly doesn't give out smiles freely.  More often than not, she has her brow furrowed like she's very perplexed.  It reminds me so much of her Daddy!  Here are a few pictures of Molly with captions Tim and I created; they make us laugh!

Boo!

Um, excuse me, waiter?  May I have some more tea please?

Hmm. . . . let me think....

Whatchu want?

What tha ?????

What are you sayin, Lovie?

I can't believe Molly will be two months old on Thursday!  She's growing sooooooo fast!

Lessons Learned from Mommy Bootcamp

Molly will be four weeks old on Saturday!  4 Weeks already!?!?!  And in four quick weeks, I know this much to be true:

* Getting 2 hours of sleep at a time really isn't so bad.  Yes, napping when she naps sometimes during the day helps tremendously as well.  But it's really surprised me how well I've done on little sleep.  It helps, too, that Molly typically does really well at night, waking up for feedings every 3 hours at the most.  And yes, she typically goes right back down.

* Babies really do grow too quickly.  Molly's already trying to hold up her head!  And she's growing out of some of her newborn clothes, specifically this onesie that's my very favorite.  I'm pretty sure last night was the last time she'll wear it.  She's too long for it!

Here she is in my favorite onesie in the hospital.  It was really too big then!  Only 4 weeks ago!!

* Just when you think you got the whole mommy-thing down pat, something new happens to throw you for a loop!

* Girls will tinkle all over you when you're changing them!  That's not just a boy thing!

* 7 pounds of love can certainly steal a man's heart

* Nursing is NOT for the weak and weary.  This is serious business!

* A sleeping child is really a beautiful sight!

* Wardrobe issues for a new mommy are not fun!

The days go by quickly and are often such a blur.  But it's full of love, fun, joy and sunshine.  All in the form of our precious baby girl!  And I wouldn't have it any other way!
